How long are the walks?

30min, 45min, 60min OR any desired length – we can customise. We can even do 2 dogs (one household) each with separate lengths (partially walked together if required) for different ages and/or energy levels

Will my dog be walked alone or with other dogs?

We used to work in conjunction with a behavioural trainer & a lot of our dogs are reactive & not properly socialised. Therefore we focus on solo walks and predominantly specialise in one on one walks. We do also offer social walks if we feel that the dogs will compliment each other and get on well. This is only after we have developed a relationship with each dog and know their personalities.

What happens in bad weather?

We still walk in the rain (most of our puppers love it) however if it’s too dangerous we will make the call to not go ahead. It’s easy to place a walk credit on your account, to swap to a different day or to simply refund the walk in this instance.

Who will be taking care of my pets?

We are a small family business comprised of the owner, her brother & a very small handful of carefully selected staff. We all share jobs & will be assigned accordingly based on the individual requirements of each service.

I have to go into work unexpectedly. Can I make a booking?

Absolutely! We are able to cater for last minute appointment requests & can offer plenty of flexibility for ever changing plans & busy lives.

Do you work weekends and public holidays?

Our walking services are open Monday to Friday. Our sitting services (which include walks) are open 365 days of the year.

Do I get to meet the person taking care of my pets?

We do not take any new clients on board without first conducting a meet & greet. This initial consultation is completely free of charge & we come to you!

How do you gain entry to my home?

We recommend a lockbox on the property with a key if your home does not have access codes. We are able to accommodate any other arrangements you may prefer.

What type of pets do you look after?

We have experience caring for reptiles, horses, birds, rabbits, Guinea pigs, fish and more!

How do I pay?

We accept 3 payment types: cash, bank transfer or you can upload a card to your account for auto deductions. Should you need to skip any paid walks unexpectedly, we will always award credits where the terms and conditions are upheld. We can provide electronic receipts on request.

Why should I choose The Pet Cadet?

We prioritise your dogs safety over maximising profit. We are all pet owners ourselves and have a genuine passion for animals. We won’t walk your dogs in the heat. We won’t take your dog to the dog park (unless specifically requested) which is a hot spot for fights. We won’t walk your dog in a huge pack where if something happens we cannot control the situation.

What happens if my walker is sick or away?

You will be allocated a primary walker so that your dog may build a trusting relationship. We will endeavour to arrange a back up walker should your primary be unavailable for any reason.

How many dogs do you walk at a time?

We never exceed 4 dogs as we do not feel it is safe for your pet should any event occur.

What time will my dog be walked?

Our walks are always given as a 3hr window so please keep in mind that we may arrive 1.5hrs before/after your booking time. If we think we may fall outside of that window for any reason you will be advised.
